FALL SEMESTER / 2023

Foreword

Dr. Héger Gabteni

Dean for Faculty and Research

As we begin a new year, it is time to share the highlights of a dynamic fall semester at the PSB Research Lab.

To begin with, we welcomed the arrival of new colleagues in our team. Their expertise will enrich and strengthen the work already carried out in major areas of research.

Thanks to the vigorous work of our researchers on international multidisciplinary projects, we have been awarded new funding through a grant from the European Commission, under the Horizon Europe programme.

Besides the publication of their academic papers in prestigious journals, our researchers have continued to disseminate their scientific knowledge through ongoing interactions with our eco-system on topical issues relating to their expertise. In building up links between scientific research, business issues and public debate, they have continued to contribute to academic excellence through the quality and diversity of their work.

In this issue, you will read about these topics, dissemination initiatives, publications, international distinctions and events organised by the PSB Research Lab Team, who we would like to take this opportunity to warmly congratulate for their hard works and achievements.

I wish you a very happy 2024!

We hope you enjoy reading this latest number of our Newsletter.

RESEARCH FUND

 REMAKING

Horizon Europe

Paris School of Business has been awarded a new grant funded by the European Commission, under the Horizon Europe programme, for a four-year research project called REMAKING (REmote-working Multiple impacts in the Age of disruptions: socio-economic transformations, territorial rethinKING, and policy actions).

The project will be run by an interdisciplinary team composed of researchers from Paris School of Business, together with members from 11 other European partners (Universities, NGOs and public institutions) under the coordination of the University of Bologna in Italy.

The project will investigate the multiple impacts of remote working across three societal dimensions: (1) individual living and working conditions, (2) new business models and the consequences on workers’ skills and innovation processes, and (3) socio-economic effects from the perspective of second-tier cities and rural areas and their evolving equilibrium with metropolitan areas. The ultimate aim of REMAKING is to create a policy-oriented framework enabling policymakers to adopt place-based and place-sensitive policies focusing on territorial rebalancing and development.

Ignasi Capdevila, Researcher, Professor of Management, and member of the NewPIC Chair, will be responsible for coordinating the work on the impact of remote working especially in relation to new business models and the impact on workers’ skills and innovation processes.
